Originally, from England, Karen travelled back to London after completing her studies in Australia, and worked for a high profile fashion label in the UK. However, Karen found her calling in bridal couture and returned to Australia to start her first bridal wear business in Perth. Being successful Karen made the move to Sydney in 2000 and established the KAREN WILLIS HOLMES brand.
The main appeal for Karen in bridal wear was, and still is, in its unfaltering demand of attention to detail and that exceptional fit.
In 2004 following the success of the couture label, Karen was inspired to create a ready to wear bridal collection, catering to clients who require a wedding gown with couture-like quality, innovative design, and a high level of customer service, but with the ease and price of a ready to wear wedding dress.
Karen Willis Holmes now has her couture atelier in Sydney, three ready to wear stores in Australia, located in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, international & interstate stockists and an exciting on line E-Boutique - www.karenwillisholmes.com.au/shop. All stores also stock a beautiful selection of veils, wraps, jewellery and various accessories.
The company employs 30 team members in their workrooms and stores, and manufactures all of the wedding dresses in Australia, providing that hands on personal approach and commitment to detail, using only the highest quality imported fabrics, laces, and beading from around the world.
